The FS-420 Powder Screw Vertical Packaging Machine is an integrated automatic packaging system that combines film forming, servo screw dosing, filling, sealing, cutting, and coding into a single continuous workflow. Built around a collar-type forming mechanism and paired with a dedicated screw feeder, this machine delivers consistent bag quality and high filling accuracy for a wide range of powdered products.

All parts in direct contact with the product are manufactured from 304 stainless steel, ensuring hygiene compliance and easy cleaning — making it suitable for food-grade powder applications. The machine supports a maximum film width of 420mm and produces back-seal (pillow) bags with adjustable lengths and widths.

How It Works

The packaging film is pulled from the roll, passes through the collar former to create a vertical tube, and is longitudinally sealed. The servo-driven screw metering unit dispenses a precise volume of powder into the bag through the filling tube. Horizontal sealing jaws then seal the top of the current bag and the bottom of the next simultaneously, while a cutter separates individual bags. A finished product conveyor carries completed bags away for collection.

1. Servo Screw Metering for Precision Dosing

At the heart of the FS-420 is a servo-controlled screw metering unit. Unlike traditional clutch-brake systems, the servo motor drives the metering screw with high rotational accuracy, allowing the filling volume to be adjusted in fine increments directly from the touchscreen. The metering assembly includes a pneumatic shut-off valve to prevent material dripping between cycles, and a stirring motor inside the hopper keeps the powder homogenized and bridge-free for consistent flow.

2. Siemens PLC & Touchscreen Control System

The machine is controlled by a Siemens programmable logic controller (PLC) paired with a Siemens SMART LINE touchscreen HMI. The intuitive interface allows operators to set and store packaging parameters, monitor real-time production data, diagnose fault codes, and adjust sealing temperature, bag length, and filling weight without mechanical recalibration. The color-mark sensor (photoelectric eye) automatically tracks printed film registration, ensuring accurate cutting position on pre-printed packaging film.

3. Pneumatic Sealing & Cutting Mechanism

The longitudinal and horizontal sealing systems are driven by Airtac pneumatic cylinders, providing consistent sealing pressure for strong, leak-proof seams. The vertical sealing unit uses a guide-rod cylinder for stable parallel movement, while the horizontal sealing jaws incorporate independent temperature control via TOKY temperature controllers. A thin-type cutter cylinder executes clean bag separation, and an integrated DH coder prints production date, batch number, or expiry information directly onto each bag during the sealing cycle.

4. Complete Integrated Supply Package

Each FS-420 system is delivered as a complete package including the main packaging machine, a screw feeder (上料机), the servo screw metering unit, a finished product conveyor, and a date coder. The machine is packed in an export wooden case suitable for international sea freight. All product-contact surfaces use 304 stainless steel, and the frame is built for stable, long-term industrial operation.
